The 4th of July is right around the corner. We will once again celebrate our great nation and the freedoms we all enjoy. We are constantly reminded that our freedoms come at a high cost as millions have fought & died for it or struggle with mental and physical disabilities as a result.
The price is staggering, but we value our freedoms so much that we are willing to do whatever it takes. But there is another battle going on and it is slowly taking our freedoms and claiming more lives than all the wars combined. The strange part is that many do not even know this battle is even happening!
It is only through the Holy Spirit can the full impact of this war be understood. The relentless enemy is sin and the supreme commander is the devil. They have taken stealth tech to new heights. This is only detectable by God and those filled with His Spirit. To an outsider, it is God that takes away our freedoms. They cannot see the deep love He has for us. His divine guidance comes out of His intimate knowledge of what truly brings us happiness and what tears us apart. When we reject Him and go our own way then our sinful desires take over. If we are driven by pure greed and lust that is unchecked by the fear and love of God then our freedoms are taken from us directly by the sins of others or indirectly by societies attempt to maintain order by creating more of man's laws.
Time to once again celebrate the true source of our freedom...Jesus.
