Some are blaming the guns, some our president, and yet others actually blame God or at least those that are believers.
The reality is that our sinful nature is to blame, but no one dares to talk about God & sin. We would rather play the blame game or politics instead. If we continue on the path away from God by embracing violence and other sinful desires in our society and portraying it in every form of social media nothing we do will make a difference.
Those that blame God and His followers fail to realize the greatest command that Jesus ever gave was to love one another. Without a strong belief in our creator then we have neither the sense of His overwhelming love for us nor an inherent fear of eternal separation and punishment in hell. What does God's word bring into our lives?
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. So when we are truly filled with His Spirit and we pray diligently for His help these are the attributes He provides to us. Each one of these is severely lacking in our society today! It doesn't make any difference who you are or what you do or do not have when you have God in your soul you have these precious gifts and you are called to use them to the best of your ability to glorify the Lord.
You pray and work hard every day to keep the devil at bay. To not let greed and lust control your actions. To fill your mind with ways you can show God's love to one another through your words and deeds. To forgive and not retaliate against those who have sinned against you. We don't need more laws or to lose more of our rights, we just need more of the Holy Spirit at work throughout our land. We know that our government cannot provide this. It must come from the people. People that make up the body of Christ. So start today by going out and bringing Jesus to all the people of your community through simple surprising acts of kindness giving Jesus all the credit and invite the recipients to your church/school/youth activity and so on. Keep doing these acts of kindness and identifying Jesus has the source and together we can sow the seeds of the Spirit and drive out the darkness. This is what Acts 1:8 Ministry has been doing for almost 20 years through our FREE P.A.C.K. (Planned Acts of Christian Kindness) program. Please join with believers in 109 countries who are already sharing Jesus through simple surprising acts of kindness and a Connect Card that delivers God's message and invite to your church/ministry.
