Water Saves Lives!
Approximately 23,000 children die every year in Uganda from unsanitary drinking water. Water is not that accessible, yet it is vital. To obtain safe drinking water, many children walk several miles every day before and after school. Often, children do not even attend school because they spend the day providing water for their families. The major sources of water for most people are bacteria-infected swamps. Using this water leads to water-borne diseases, such as typhoid and cholera, which are deadly.
"In Africa, we say water is life." - Father Celestine of Kasana-Luweero Diocese in Uganda (current Parish Administrator at St. Anne's Parish in Coleman, Wisconsin)
Thanks to the financial support of Acts 1:8 Ministry's partners and friends, the 92nd water tower has been completed in Uganda in 2013! These water towers provide a safe, clean and convenient source of water for the villages in Uganda.
Water is Life and you can help give life to the people of Uganda.
The cost of building each water tower is $700. No donation is too small.
Donations between $500 - $5,000 will matched in full by the generosity of an anonymous donor.
