...the grass is greener where you water it.
You've probably heard that saying once or twice before. And as part of our sinful nature we often find ourselves looking at our neighbors and thinking how wonderful their life is.
On the outside, it looks like they have the better job, a nicer car, a happier life. This can often lead us down a sin filled road of trying to keep up with the "Jones'".
These actions and thoughts can also lead to searching for greener pastures that only result in hurting our loved ones, ourselves, and our relationship with God.
So if things are looking greener someplace else I would turn to the Bible and as far as that neighbor is concerned, take a walk over and invite him to worship next Sunday morning. You will find that a whole lot more rewarding than going out to buy stuff you really could do without not to mention avoiding some serious pain & suffering that could also result.
God tells us clearly in Luke 12:15:
And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
Come closer to God through serving others. It will change your perspective of how you are currently viewing the world around you. P.A.C.K. (Planned Acts of Christian Kindness) is a free program that can do exactly that.
